Double Taxonomic Wikidata Items

Most biology wikicommons categories have a link to a couple of wikidata items:
- item 1: a Wikidata Category Item, with:
- P301 (category's main topic) = item 2.
- item 2: a Wikidata Taxon Item, with:
- P910 (topic's main category) = item 1.
- Example 'Achariaceae' (Q651518)
Example: Category:Neoptera has a Double Taxonomic Wikidata Item: 'Category:Neoptera' (Q9850796) + 'Neoptera' (Q23005)
Wikidata Category Item
[edit]It is a wikidata item describing a category of taxon.
By definition it has:

- WikiCommons interwiki=a Wikicommons category (with Category:) (Mandatory)
- P373 (Commons category)=a Wikicommons category (without Category:) (Mandatory)
- P301 (category's main topic)=a Wikidata Taxon Item (Optional. If set, we have a double taxonomic Wikidata items)
- P935 (Commons gallery)=a Wikicommons gallery (Optional. If set, P301 should also be set)
Example: 'Category:Neoptera' (Q9850796)
Wikidata Taxon Item
[edit]It is a wikidata item describing a taxon.
By definition it has:

- P910 (topic's main category)=a Wikidata Category Item (Optional. If set, we have a double taxonomic Wikidata items)
- P373 (Commons category)=a Wikicommons category (without Category:)
- P935 (Commons gallery)=a Wikicommons gallery
- P171 (parent taxon)=another Wikidata Taxon Item (Optional but recommanded)
- P105 (taxon rank)=an item like 'infraclass' (Q2007442) (Mandatory)
- P225 (taxon name)=the taxon scientific name (Mandatory)
- many properties listed in WikiProject_Taxonomy#Databases, like
- P685 (NCBI taxonomy ID)=the id of the taxon in NCBI website
